We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Field Service Engineer to join our team, providing worldwide support for our advanced launcher systems. This role combines global on-site service—including maintenance, diagnostics, and client training—with in-house testing, fixture development, and product improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Field (primary):

  • Execute assigned service tickets end-to-end: perform preventive/corrective maintenance, diagnostics, repairs/replacements, and verification tests on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems.

  • Run diagnostics/troubleshooting using the launcher control panel, remote diagnostic device, check control modules and perform sensor calibration; confirm fixes with functional tests.

  • Execute commissioning, demos, and handovers; support test launches at client’s site.

  • Pre-deployment prep: review tickets scope and minimum incident information, confirm parts/tools and spares kits, plan travel/logistics/visas.

  • Provide clear on-site communication and operator training.

  • Post-job documentation: complete the digital service report (checklist, photos, parts traceability etc.), collect signatures and flag inputs needed for root cause analysis.

Factory (when not traveling):

  • Perform end-of-line tests on complete units and bench tests on subassemblies (e.g., hydraulic manifolds/cylinders, compressors/engines, harnesses, control modules).

  • Design/build test setups/fixtures with Engineering; draft concise work/test instructions; keep basic calibration records.

  • Verify fixes in factory/field tests, update PM checklists, test instructions, and training materials.

  • Maintain tools, and base stock, assist with inventory cycle counts and spares forecasting.

Product Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

  • Capture and synthesize field issues/recurring faults/usability pain points.

  • Brief Engineering regularly; contribute to root cause analysis; propose design/test/process improvements and change requests.

Compliance and Conduct:

  • Follow Threod and site safety, security, and data-handling procedures, respect operational security and local rules at all times.

About you:

  • Education: Technical diploma or vocational training in Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or Industrial Maintenance.

  • Experience: 3+ years hands-on with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; industrial compressors and diesel engines; field maintenance on mobile/defence or heavy equipment.

  • Diagnostics and repair: Strong troubleshooting; use of Threod diagnostic console/software (training provided), basic control module checks, sensor calibration, pressure testing, harness/connector work.

  • Reporting: Can read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics and produce clear service reports.

  • Customer interaction and service: Confident on client sites – professional, courteous, and composed; communicates clearly with non-technical users, sets expectations, provides status/ETAs, and follows through to closure.

  • Travel readiness: Global travel up to 90%; short-notice deployments incl. weekends/holidays.

  • License and documents: Valid passport and category B and BE driver’s license; able to obtain visas/permits and travel vaccinations as needed.

  • Work authorization: Eligible to work in Estonia.

  • Languages: Estonian and English (B2 or higher).

  • Physical ability: Work outdoors/under vehicles; lift 25-30 kg; operate in remote environments.

  • Safety and conduct: Safety mindset (lockout/tagout, PPE), data handling discipline, and respect for site security/OPSEC and export-control rules.
